Suspension of Time

A Referral Authority has the option to request a suspension of time when responding to council's referral under Section 8 of the Subdivision Act 1988 (Vic). The suspension of time is usually raised when there is a requirement for alterations to the plan by the applicant.


You will need to complete the following to request a suspension of time:

  1. Select the mandatory action "Add RA Response".
  2. Select "Certification" as the option you are responding to.
  3. Click on 'next'.
  4. On the "Add Referral Response" screen, select the option "Request a suspension of time" (Requirement for alterations to a plan).
  5. Click on 'next'.
  6. Browse for, and attach the appropriate PDF file, or type your response directly into the text field provided.
  7. Click on "add now" and a confirmation screen will display if the document was added successfully.
    NOTE: if you have suppressed the "Attach Document" confirmation via settings, you will be returned directly to the Details Screen.
  8. Click on 'return' to go back to the Details Screen.
  9. To complete the process, the "RA Response (Require plan amendment)" must be authenticated using your SPEAR password.

A notification email will be sent to the Applicant Contact advising of your request and SPEAR will create a mandatory action for the Applicant Contact to add a new plan of Subdivision or Consolidation.
